Hello!
I am Jessica Greve, a child and adolescent psychotherapist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as a psychological counselor for adults. I live in Latin America and therefore offer psychological counseling for clients residing in Germany, rather than psychotherapy, for all age groups. Due to my own background with studying abroad and several longer stays abroad, I have specialized in working with individuals who have immigration or emigration backgrounds. From personal experience, I know that a significant life change like this demands a lot emotionally from us while also offering great opportunities for personal development. It is essential to have one or more anchor points that accompany and support you on this journey – in letting go of the previous living environment, in processing burdensome experiences and issues that one may have carried with them for a long time, and in adjusting to a new environment with different people, languages, and cultures. It is about finding a way to discover and further develop one’s own identity.
My Approach
In my work, it is important to me to proceed in a respectful, resource-oriented, and individually tailored manner. Each person is met where they currently are. I combine psychotherapeutic and systemic approaches with coaching elements, so that support is possible for both psychological burdens and personal development questions.
Methods
I use scientifically validated methods of cognitive behavioral therapy to cope with distressing thoughts, fears, or mood swings. Additionally, I employ systemic coaching, which focuses on relationships, roles, and resources within family, school, or work. The ability to offer counseling in German, English, Spanish, and Dutch makes it easier for my clients to effectively express emotions and difficult situations.
