Meet our therapists offering Coaching

Goal-focused support for personal or professional change, decision-making and sustainable action.

What is coaching?

Coaching is a structured, goal-oriented conversation that helps you move from where you are to where you want to be. It focuses on the present and the future rather than on the past: clarifying what you want, identifying what holds you back, and turning intentions into concrete actions. A coach does not give ready-made answers; they ask questions, offer feedback and tools, and help you stay accountable to your own goals.

At My International Therapy, coaching is offered by therapists from our network who are also trained in coaching. This means they can support your goals while recognising when stress, anxiety or low mood need attention, and adapt the work accordingly.

What coaching can help with

How a coaching process works

Coaching usually starts with a session to define your objectives and what success would look like. Many coaches use simple frameworks such as GROW: clarifying the Goal, looking honestly at the current Reality, exploring Options, and agreeing on the Way forward. Between sessions you test actions in real life, then review what worked and what did not. A coaching programme often lasts between 4 and 12 sessions, in person or online, in several languages.

  • Clarifying your goals and priorities
  • Identifying strengths, resources and obstacles
  • Building an action plan with realistic steps
  • Reviewing progress and adjusting along the way

Coaching or therapy?

Coaching works best when you are generally doing well and want to progress on a specific goal. If you are dealing with persistent anxiety, depression, trauma or burnout, therapy is usually the right first step, and coaching can follow later. Because our coaches are also therapists, they can help you notice the difference and switch to a therapeutic approach such as CBT, ACT or solution-focused therapy if needed. Positive psychology is another close approach that builds on strengths and wellbeing.

Coaching for international professionals

Working abroad brings specific questions: adapting to a new work culture, leading multicultural teams, building a career in a second language, supporting a partner’s career move, or deciding whether to stay or return home. Coaching with someone who understands international life can help you make these choices with more clarity and confidence.

Is coaching right for you?

Coaching is a good fit if you have a clear area of your life you want to change, are ready to take action between sessions, and want a structured, practical process. If you are not sure whether you need coaching or therapy, a first session is a good place to talk it through.

FAQ — Coaching

What is Coaching?

Goal-focused support for personal or professional change, decision-making and sustainable action.

Your therapist will adapt the pace and focus of sessions to your needs, goals, and current situation.

What can Coaching help with?

Coaching is often used for concerns such as Career change, Decision-making difficulties, Life transitions, Self-esteem, and Work stress.

The therapy page also shows which therapists on MIT currently offer this approach.

What happens in a first coaching session?

A first session usually focuses on understanding what brings you to therapy, what you want to change, and whether the therapist’s style feels like a good fit.

You do not need to prepare anything perfect in advance. It is normal to start with questions, uncertainty, or mixed feelings.

How many sessions of Coaching do people usually need?

Coaching-style work is often focused and goal-based, so many people notice progress in 4 to 10 sessions, with follow-up as needed.

Is Coaching available online?

Availability depends on the therapist. On MIT, you can check the therapist cards and profile pages to see whether online sessions are offered.

How much does Coaching usually cost?

Fees vary by therapist. When no live therapist prices are available yet, the usual range for this therapy is around €70–€130 per session.

How do I choose the right coaching therapist on MIT?

Start by reading the therapist’s profile, experience, languages, online/in-person availability, and approach. Then check whether the person works with the kind of issue you want help with.

A good fit is often about both expertise and how safe, understood, and comfortable you feel with the therapist.

Can I message a therapist before booking?

Yes. MIT profiles can include direct messaging, and therapists can also activate online booking when available.

This helps patients ask practical questions before committing to a first session.

What if I am not sure Coaching is the right fit for me?

That is very common. You can start by contacting a therapist, explaining what you are struggling with, and asking whether this approach fits your goals.

If no therapist is listed yet for this therapy, you can still explore related approaches and pathologies on the site.
