Hi, I’m Dominique. I’m an English-speaking clinical psychologist who doesn’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach to therapy. This is why I use a variety of therapeutic techniques that are in line with a client’s specific goals and needs. A practical and warm person at heart, I aim to give clients a toolkit they can use whenever they need it while providing a safe and empathic space for individuals to understand & cope better.
About me
As a South African Psychologist, my journey has taken me across the globe, living in diverse countries such as Germany, Zambia, Tanzania, and Vietnam. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the complexities of expatriate life and transitions. Having personally navigated the challenges of adapting to new cultures and environments, I bring a unique perspective to my practice.
I have experience supporting adults, children, and adolescents, with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, panic, low self-esteem, stress management, grief and loss, and relationship issues. I am particularly passionate about working with neurodiverse individuals, recognizing their unique strengths and challenges. Whether you’re navigating a diagnosis of ADHD or autism or seeking ways to thrive in a neurotypical world, I offer affirming and empowering support tailored to your specific needs.
My professional experience extends beyond private practice. I have worked in educational and rehabilitation settings, supporting individuals of all ages.
Known for my warm and approachable nature, I provide a balanced mix of supportive listening, humor, and coaching to facilitate positive life changes. Whether you’re facing a life transition, managing stress, or seeking personal growth, I am here to help you on your journey.
My approach
My approach is rooted in client-centered psychology, recognizing that each individual is the expert of their own life. I believe in creating an authentic, non-judgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, and identities.
In our sessions, I draw upon a blend of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy. Together, we work collaboratively to identify unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and develop more adaptive coping strategies. I use an integrative approach, tailoring techniques and theories to best suit
the unique needs of each individual. Practical strategies are utilized to help develop more functional ways of addressing problems and of managing emotional discomfort.
I strive to build a collaborative therapeutic relationship founded on trust, empathy, and mutual respect. If something isn’t meeting your needs, we can adjust it together. Our partnership is focused on helping you reach your goals, achieve better mental well-being, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself and others.
